The Réseaux IP Européens Network Coordination Centre (RIPE NCC) is the regional Internet registry (RIR) for Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Central Asia. It is a not-for-profit membership organization that supports the infrastructure of the Internet through the allocation and registration of IP addresses and ASNs (autonomous system numbers) in its service region.
The RIPE NCC serves over 20,000 members in 76 countries, mainly consisting of Internet service providers, telecommunication organizations, and other companies that manage their own network infrastructure. It also acts as the secretariat to the RIPE community, which is a forum open to all parties with an interest in the technical development of the Internet.
The organization’s activities include maintaining a registry of all allocated Internet number resources in its service region, providing technical and administrative support to the RIPE community, and working on Internet governance and policy-related matters.
